The Chance of Living (2017 - present)
The Bergen-Lafayette area was split in a recent government remapping process that failed to address Jersey City's growing affordable housing crisis, allowing politically connected developers to opt out of previous ordinance obligations for undefined contributions. Change has been happening well before the ward remapping. This series highlights the people and their surroundings and raises thoughts on the evolution of shared spaces in historically low-income, urban neighborhoods impacted by local government remapping. It's a first-hand observation of the societal changes and attempts to ask what change means from the perspective of Jersey City residents.
